World Soccer Gossip: Dembele to United; Latest on Sancho

Here’s your daily round-up of the latest transfer gossip from World Soccer.

DEMBELE TO OLD TRAFFORD?

Let’s start with Manchester United, who appear to be chasing at least one more signing before the transfer window slams shut. According to the Daily Record, The Red Devils are in talks to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

Barcelona’s French forward Ousmane Dembele sits on the ground after an injury during the UEFA Champions League Group F football match between FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, on November 27, 2019.

That being said, according to the Daily Mirror, sources at Old Trafford have rubbished the link with the 23-year-old. After losing to Crystal Palace at the weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure to deliver results, and having Dembele added to his squad would certainly be a welcome boost.

LATEST ON SANCHO

If United do manage to sign Dembele, then it’s highly unlikely that they’d also look to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. According to the Independent, Dortmund remain adamant that the 20-year-old will not be leaving the club during this summer’s transfer window, despite consistent links with The Red Devils.

Dortmund’s English midfielder Jadon Sancho vies for the ball during the German first division Bundesliga football match BVB Borussia Dortmund v Schalke 04 on May 16, 2020 in Dortmund, western Germany as the season resumed following a two-month absence due to the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

If Sancho continues to impress in the Bundesliga, we can’t imagine that Dortmund will be able to keep hold of the winger for much longer. United, as well as numerous other huge clubs, are likely to reignite their interest in the player again next summer, if not before.

ALLI TO PSG

According to the Daily Mail, Paris Saint-Germain are confident Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli wants to join them on a season-long loan deal. The midfielder has been left out of the recent trips to Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton after being hauled off at half-time against Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur’s English midfielder Dele Alli reacts after missing a chance during the English Premier League football match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, on September 13, 2020.

Gareth Bale’s arrival from Real Madrid won’t help the midfielder’s first-team chances, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he did look for a move. That being said, there isn’t too long left for the two clubs to come to an agreement, with the transfer window closing in little over a week.
