French giants Paris Saint-Germain have this afternoon been dealt a potential blow on the injury front, after star man Neymar was forced out of Brazil’s clash with Nigeria.
Brazil 1-1 Nigeria
Tite’s men went head-to-head with the Super Eagles a short time ago, at the Singapore National Stadium.
Brazil headed into the clash aiming to put a disappointing recent string of results behind them.
The Selecao were winless in their last 3 outings, versus Colombia, Peru and Senegal respectively.
When the 90 minutes were said and done in Singapore, though, the South American champions’ winless streak stretched to 4 games.
Nigeria took the lead with 35 minutes on the clock, after a brilliant piece of individual work from Rangers star Joe Aribo.
Casemiro then pulled Brazil level shortly after the interval, but, despite dominating possession, the Selecao failed to find an all-important winner over the remaining half-hour.
Brazil’s last three:

– 56% possession
– 14 shots
– Lost 1-0
– Jesus, Firmino, Neymar, Coutinho start
– 51% possession
– 9 shots

Neymar forced off
Result aside, meanwhile, another concern for Tite’s outfit this afternoon came on the personnel front.
With just over 10 minutes gone, talisman Neymar pulled up with a problem, before eventually limping off to be replaced by Philippe Coutinho.
Early reports suggest that the 27-year-old’s issue was with his hamstring.
This will of course come as a potential hammer blow to the attacker’s club, PSG.
The Ligue 1 champions fought tooth and nail to keep Neymar at the Parc des Princes over the summer, amid heavy interest from former club Barcelona.
As such, PSG’s fans, squad and hierarchy alike are no doubt counting on the world’s most expensive player to drive their pursuit of long-awaited European glory this season.
But, after already missing a month of action between August and September, Neymar could now be set for a further spell on the sidelines.
