Chelsea 0 – Everton 0
Chelsea were held to a frustrating goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday against Everton.
Maurizio Sarri remains undefeated in the Premier League after 12 matches this term.
Indeed, no Chelsea manager has ever achieved such a long unbeaten run at the start of a Premier League season.
Yet Chelsea nevertheless dropped two key points, which saw the Blues slip to third place in the table.
Man City are top of the division with 32 points, Liverpool have 30 points and Chelsea have 28 points.
Cesc Fabregas cheated vs Everton
For just the third time this league season, Cesc Fabregas was involved in a Premier League match for Chelsea against Everton.
Fabregas, who has significantly dropped down the pecking order at Chelsea, was brought on as a second half sub against the Toffees.
In his 26 minute cameo, Fabregas attracted attention for all the wrong reasons.
The Spanish midfielder is being harangued on social media for ‘cheating’ against Everton.
Fabregas has been flagged up for trying to gain an advantage from a free-kick.
Referee Kevin Friend marked the spot for a Blues set-play with his vanishing spray.
But as soon as the official turned his back, Fabregas picked up the spray and moved it forward.
For the record, Eden Hazard, who stood right next to Fabregas, didn’t flinch as the Spaniard picked up the spray.
Does Cesc Fabregas have a future at Chelsea?
Cesc Fabregas is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season.
At present there seems little to suggest that Chelsea will offer the midfielder a new deal to stay on at the club.
Fabregas has only clocked up 48 minutes of Premier League football so far this season.
