Everton’s Marcel Brands hints at potential move for PSV starlet in future

Everton director of football Marcel Brands has hinted at a potential move for one PSV starlet after admitting he’d ‘like to have him at Everton tomorrow’.

Brands has been in charge of Everton’s transfer business since coming in last summer.

His track record at PSV was brilliant and his Everton career got off to a positive start.

Several of his summer signings have performed well despite Everton’s huge dip in form in recent months.

Now, he’ll no doubt have his eye on the summer transfer window with the season slowly drawing to a close.

Looking past that window, though, Brands may have his eye on one PSV talent.

“Frankly, I’d like to have him at Everton tomorrow”

That is because Brands has admitted he’d have starlet Mohammed Ihattaren ‘at Everton tomorrow’ if he could.

Though, he admitted that for now, it’s best the player stays at PSV before moving to a competition like the Premier League.

“Frankly, I’d like to have him at Everton tomorrow,” he explained to Voetbal International, as cited and translated by Sport Witness.

“He’s so good, but I don’t think that’s the path he should take.

“He will need an intermediate step later. In that respect, Mo is good at PSV.

“The club plays European football, he has a great chance of playing time and he is in the national teams.

“If he now went abroad, he has a lot less guarantees. The step to the Premier League is really big and it can also go wrong with a talent.

“Now he has a coach who sees it in him, I would say cherish that. The big money will then come naturally.”
