De Laurentiis claims Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Napoli ‘more than a suggestion’

Could Zlatan return to Serie A soon?

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed a potential move for soon-to-be free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic is ‘more than a suggestion’.

Currently at LA Galaxy, Zlatan continues to show his quality even in the twilight years of his career.

Back in 2016, the Swedish striker joined Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain, where he’d scored 156 goals.

Despite his time at Old Trafford being blighted with injury problems, Zlatan still scored a solid 29 goals in 53 appearances.

His latest adventure has come in the MLS with American giants LA Galaxy.

Since joining, Zlatan has simply been tearing the league apart, scoring 52 goals in just 57 games.

Though, he recently hinted that he could return to Serie A when his current deal runs out.

Ibrahimovic has already played for Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan during his successful career.

Now, Napoli chairman De Laurentiis has claimed the wheels are in motion over a potential return to Italy with the Naples side.

‘It’s more than a suggestion and it depends on him’

Speaking to Sky Sports, De Laurentiis has admitted that a move to Napoli for Zlatan is ‘more than a suggestion’.

However, the deal still hinges on Ibrahimovic’s decision.

‘(Ibrahimovic) is a friend, I met him in Los Angeles not as a footballer but as a normal person because we were in the same hotel,’ De Laurentiis explained.

‘I invited him over for dinner with his wife and kids and we had an amazing time. It would be my wish to see him in Napoli colours, it’s more than a suggestion and it depends on him. It’s been talked about for a few months now.’

Zlatan’s deal expires in December and would be available on a free transfer.
