Carragher claims Liverpool’s Fabinho is best player in Prem for his position

Burnley 0-Liverpool 3

Liverpool’s perfect start to the Premier League campaign continued on Saturday.

The Reds had won their previous three league outings in 2019/20 and were the only PL side to have taken all the available points.

Jurgen Klopp’s side made it four wins out of four vs Burnley on Saturday evening.

An own goal from Chris Wood, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino got Liverpool the goals in said win.

Carragher on Fabinho

After the game, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has made a big claim about Fabinho.

Fabinho did not have the best start to life in the Premier League after joining from AS Monaco last summer.

However, after an adjustment period, the Brazilian has begun to prove himself as a quality defensive midfielder.

Carragher has gone so far as to claim he thinks Fabinho is the best in the Premier League for his position.

Carragher also mentions Manchester City’s Fernandinho but states that he looks like he is fading out of the City side:

“I actually think he’s the best in the Premier League now in that position.

“Fernandinho looks like he’s fading out of the City team and Rodri is just coming in but I think since Christmas when he came in [to the team] you could argue he was Liverpool’s best player last season.

“Right now I think he’s the best in that position. I think Liverpool paid between £40-50m, it was a few quid, he had a difficult start but that’s where Liverpool have improved this season.

“If you think of the start of last season how well they were playing but they didn’t have Fabinho.” As quoted by the Mirror.
