Arsenal set to earn around £5m from Reine-Adelaide’s move to Lyon

Reine-Adelaide’s Arsenal stint

Jeff Reine-Adelaide spent around three years at Arsenal.

The Gunners signed the youngster in July of 2015 from RC Lens’ under-19 side.

The North London outfit are believed to have paid around £2.25m for his services.

During his time in England, Reine-Adelaide made 29 appearances for Arsenal’s under-23 side, in which he scored three and assisted six.

The midfielder also made eight appearances for Arsenal’s senior side, the first of which came during the 2015/16 season in an FA Cup tie vs Sunderland.

However, Reine-Adelaide never completed 90 minutes for Arsenal’s main team, and spent the second half of the 2017/18 season out on loan at Ligue 1 side SC Angers.

Arsenal set to make £5m

Reine-Adelaide then completed a permanent switch to Angers in July of 2018.

Angers are believed to have paid around £1.44m for the 21-year-old.

In total, Reine-Adelaide featured 47 times for SC Angers last season, scoring four and assisting four in said games.

However, after just one season at the club, Angers look set to sell the versatile midfielder to fellow French side Lyon.

The Evening Standard have reported that Angers and Lyon have agreed a deal worth an initial £23m for Reine-Adelaide.

The ES also claims that there are £2.3m worth of add-ons in the deal for the former Arsenal man.

The same report also states that Arsenal should get around £5m from the transfer, having secured a 20% sell-on clause as part of his sale.

Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts has also reported on Thursday that Arsenal had a 20% sell-on clause on Reine-Adelaide. So, they should earn around £5m from his transfer to Lyon.
